Machine Learning Engineer

AI has the potential to transform healthcare and is particularly needed at this time when our services are under increasing strain. However, it has yet to be really implemented and tested and it is difficult to understand how any given product is going to perform in practice. But the impact of getting it wrong is too high to take chances on unknown behaviour. We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to work on developing algorithmic strategies to stress-test computer vision applications in healthcare to ensure safe, fair and effective adoption of AI for all. 

Responsibilities

• Devise algorithmic strategies to quantitatively evaluate 'black-box' products, for instance in terms of performance, fairness, robustness and explainability
• Design and implement methods to generate simulation images for testing
• Work with 3D medical imaging formats, such as DICOM
• Develop software using good software development practices that can be used by teammates and integrated into product
• Optimise methods for efficient, scalable performance

Skills

• Python and machine learning and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch / Tensorflow) essential
• Masters degree in technical subject such as Computing, Engineering, Physics; PhD preferred
• Experience working with 3D images and matrix manipulations preferable
• Positive, pro-active attitude
